The French Foreign Legion has been around for a long time, and each one of our men has his own private story worthy of a novel. So, as a career Legionnaire, I was happy to go back into time to “meet” Valentin Hurlet. Valentin Hurlet is not a made-up character invented for The Marquetry Box. He was a real person who once lived in Belgium, and then became one of our own.
Well worth the time.
Without spoiling the plot, Guyana is one of my old stamping grounds.
